Fun Fair

Entrance with a blue and orange bouncy, a marry go round forth the bouncy hustle and bustle of girls, smell of biryani haleem and b.b.q, CONFUSED!! no no this not the scene of an amusement park or hotel this the mela of Jinnah University for Women.26th March saturday was the day when all of the students were allowed to breath in Jinnah jail.Don't get me wrong this part of the joke, moving on there were so many stalls of different things like eatables, household and interesting stuff for the girls like cosmetics and stitched and unstiched garments.

Students were allotted different stalls so that they could express their abilities and hidden talent, these stalls were endowed with games, face painting, handmade jewellery and show-pieces, eatables, and so many hooking activities.
Interesting Things I found in Mela
Chica Race
Moving through the corridor i heard the babble of chicks!! "10 rupee ka ticket hai beta is choozay ko seedhe raste per chalana hai", said the owner of that racing game endorsing her game.

Joker
A girl dressed up as a joker from department of political science also grabbed the attention of majority of the students.

Girls in Same Shirts
A group of girls from department of Mass were wearing same T-shirts with a logo of Juwarians on the back, which actually looked good.

The Giant Wheel
The Marry-Go-Round, every time it started with a roar of generator and the loud shrilling row of the students.

Prices High/Low
University canteen was charging 5 rupee extra along with the retail price whereas the stalls arranged from the university were selling the eatables on comparatively low prices.
A Music system was also set up for the entertainment of the students, musicians played songs related to World cup.A number of media persons were also there to cover this event.

Swallowing the Midies
When I entered the hall I was all nerves. My whole body was trembling and perspiring. I was face to face with fate in the form of question paper. Time moved very fast. The students took their seats. Some of them prayed and left waiting for the invigilators to deliver them the answer books. Some tried to make plans with their friends for copying.
I got a little more scared when Miss Tooba Zaheer walked towards the white board with the bundle of papers in her hand. She teaches Online journalism to BS 3rd year of Mass Communication students of Jinnah University for Women.
There was a noise outside. One of the candidates had thrown the questions outside and her friend had run away with them. The teacher made the girl stand up and carried out complete search. She took out a parchi and swallowed it. The piece of paper stuck in her throat and she started gasping for breath.
One of the student offered her a glass of water and she gulped every thing down. Some parchis were found pasted on the sole of her shoes. The superintendent issued her a second answer book and her first answer book was taken away.
I was already in a shambles because of the hairline fracture in my hand the whole scene left me stunned for a while, I continued my paper by the time i was done with it.

0 My own Piece of Peace

Silence is Not Peace

To many people
peace is the silence
that comes after the last shot
after the last body is buried
after a war is declared over
but there is more to it
To me, peace is when you can hear
the voices laughing together
when people come together
for a concert
for a birthday
for the joy of life
because once violence ends
Silence never lasts long
If people could fill the silence
with happiness and joy
there would be no room
for anger and war

Controversy has followed the Pakistan cricket team in recent years including the sudden death of its coach, terrorist attacks that have seen other cricketing nations refuse to play there, incidents of ball tampering, a forfeited Test match and players being banned for taking performance enhancing drugs. In the background there have been constant rumours of match-fixing and corruption
Our heroes, who are homogeneously armed with irrefutably and certitude of donating away unequivocal and absolute wins against tough teams, did it again in first ODI in Brisbane. The first ODI was played on 22nd January 2010 in Brisbane and was won by Australia as they chased Pakistani target of 274 in 48.3 overs for the loss of five wickets. Cameron White's amazing match winning batting and his crucial drop catch by Salman Butt at a critical juncture in the match decided that with such poor fielding Pakistan are not going to be winners today. It was the second highest chase in this ground. Even the brilliant innings by Shahid Afridi was of no use. After the shameful defeat in Sydney test, it was hoped that team management will come up with some sound plan, but all hopes kissed dust. What we learn from history is that we do not learn from history at all.

Still being a cricket fan my hopes are high fingers crossed can't wait to watch the first one from the green team, excitement is growing day by day with the tension...
